January Club Update

January Club Update

Thanks for your support as in 2022!
We are now well and truly focused on 2023 with the season only a few months away. We have some exciting things to come this season, including starting the season with a night game at Jubilee against Knox on Saturday April 1. With live music after the game and the rooms open to watch the AFL and have a drink, this will be one of the biggest nights we have seen at Jubilee in recent times - it's not to be missed!

Memberships are on sale for 2023, so if you haven't already got your membership, get it now using the link below.

We will play three practice games this season, the weekend of 11 March, 18 March and 25 March (final details still TBC). Keep an eye on our Facebook page for details of our practice games closer to the date. All games will be against Division 1 (or equivalent opponents) so we can ensure we are challenged and start the season strong! We will be looking to hold our season launch on Saturday 25 March, with further details to come closer to the date.
Since last year we have made a few further exciting list changes, with 2021 Best & Fairest winner Jack Blyth and 2022 EFNL Team of the Year member Tim Jones both committing to play this season. With the addition of high quality younger players from premier division and VFL, along with our existing team who played off in the Grand Final, we're looking forward to another strong year on the field.
We have also had incredibly strong pre-season numbers so far, with more than 50 players training regularly. Not only do we have strong senior numbers, but we have strong reserves and 19s numbers training so far. With pressure on for positions this year, we're expecting a strong showing from our reserves in 2023 as they go back to challenging in finals.
We are looking for an under 19s coach for the season with Adam Waugh stepping up to take on the reserves. With a strong list that played finals last season, our under 19s will again be strong in 2023 and this is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to get into coaching or get involved more with the club.
Our senior women's team will begin pre-season training soon under the guide of new coach Mark Clare. Numbers before the Christmas break were incredibly strong and we have welcomed several new players to the team. After narrowly missing finals in Division 1, we're looking forward to seeing how the team performs in 2023.
As we did last year, we will again have the 'superbox' available to hire out for each home game (including night games). This includes a private room on game day, food and drinks and your own TV with the races or AFL on. We will be opening bookings soon, so keep an eye out as the superbox booked out for the year before round one last year.
We are currently welcoming netballers for 2023, if you want to come and play netball at Ringwood this year, contact our netball coordinator Nicole Stagg on 0425 188 066.

Our juniors will add another two teams in 2023 as we add an under 8s and an under 16s. This will give us a team in the majority of age groups from under 16s down to under 8s - a fantastic sign for the future of the club! Thanks to some hard work from Football Ops Manager & Vice-President Trent Bartholomew, we're not only going to be putting an under 16s team together this season, but we will be fielding a very strong one! We're excited to add a strong team to the club that will likely produce many senior players for years to come.

We are currently looking for several volunteer positions to help the club out this season, including a bar manager for the season. If you or anyone you know would be interested in taking on this role, please contact myself.

With only 10 weeks until our first game, we couldn't be more excited to see all our members and fans again to kick off the season strong. So make sure you are at our first home game under lights.
Go redbacks!
