NETBALL
We all had the last round of the season last Friday and massive accomplishments for all teams.

White had a tough round versing top of the ladder with only 6 players. Struggling with injuries and holidays the white team have been playing with 6 the last 3 weeks. The girls had a slow start only scoring 5 to Glen Waverley’s 12. A massive come back in the second quarter with a massive defensive effort from Olivia Ashcroft and Sophie Adamson. Plenty of turnover for the girls resulting in goals for the white team. Scores were 21-16 at half time with the white team ready to fight. They came within 4 goals at one point in the 3rd quarter however they ran out of energy and started to fall. The girls never gave up until the final siren and they have had a fantastic year considering numbers in the team.

Unfortunately, the black team had an unfortunate week last Friday only having 5 players take to the court from the 1stquarter after losing 2 players a few hours prior to the game. They played 2nd on the ladder for their last game and boy it was tough. They struggled to get it into the gaols to score but had a massive defensive effort from all the girls down the court. After half time very early in the 3rd quarter one of the girls injured herself badly and couldn’t continue leaving the girls with 4. Due to the rules and regulations, you can't proceed to play with 4 players so the score stood at 28-2 for the girl's last game.

Massive week for the red team after playing 7th on the ladder just above them. Finally, after weeks and weeks of unfortunate losses the girls finally got their first win of the season. This is a massive achievement for them they have been working so hard over the past few weeks at training and have finally got their win. A massive game for Amali North who shot 17 goals out of the 28 a high score for her this season. The girls played such a great game finishing on top at the final siren 28-24. They are very excited for their first win and are very keen to play on as a team and take on the new summer season in a few weeks. Congratulations girls.

There will be more information on the summer season in the next few weeks.
