Presidents Update :

With our first practice match coming up this Saturday I wanted to take the time to update you all on the latest club news as it has been a busy start to 2018.

Firstly it is with great pleasure that I can announce that at our most recent committee meeting the following additions were made to the club’s committee :

Netball Co-Ordinator : Zoe Price General committee : Megan Campbell

Zoe and Megan have an amazing passion for the club and they are both extremely valuable additions to the club committee. We look forward to their input throughout the season as we continue to forge a strong partnership with the club’s Netball teams.

Our union with Coach & Horses Hotel - Ringwood continues to grow and I am delighted to announce that they have recently committed to being the clubs jumper sponsor for 2018. We thank Brett and his team for the support and look forward to holding our season launch there soon.

For those that have been past Jubilee Park recently you will have noticed that the grass has now been fully laid and the ground fencing is also in the process of being done. I’d encourage you all to go and have a look as we can now get a real sense of what the finished product will look like and how good it is going to be. With a favourable weather forecast in the coming weeks we remain hopeful of getting back on Jubilee by the middle of the season.

Our Auskick season kicks off this Friday 16th at 5pm and our numbers are strong and continue to grow. James Storey has been doing a power of work in the local community and this has lead to 15 new families already joining the club which is a terrific achievement and hopefully more will follow. We are in the process of finalising under 8 and under 9 teams but we are still on the lookout for players so if you know of anyone looking to play football this year please put them in contact with the club.

Finally, we have two practice matches and our season launch coming up in the next fortnight. The Season Launch will be held at the Coach and Horses on Saturday March 24 at 6pm in the upstairs function room and we encourage you to all attend.

Our practice matches are as follows :

Saturday March 17 v Mulgrave at Mulgrave Reserve no. 2 oval. Garnett Road, Mulgrave. 6 quarter match combined Seniors and Reserves with a 12pm start. Saturday March 24 v Mitcham at Fred Gaele Oval, Croydon. 11.30am start with game details to be confirmed next week.

I look forward to seeing you out at Mulgrave this Saturday as we kick our season off.

Cheers,
Steve Bricknell
