President's report

It’s fair to say that this has been one of the busiest and most exciting off seasons in recent years for the club. We have welcomed many new and quality players to the club including some famous Ringwood surnames such as Jones & Parker, while welcoming some star players returning including a league best and fairest winner. These many new recruits, coupled with our young and up and coming list has led to fantastic pre-season numbers that we haven’t seen before. The commitment of the entire playing group from the women’s team, under 19s, reserves and seniors has been fantastic and has shown an incredible hunger for success in 2020.

In a very exciting move for the club, we will be fielding a women’s team in 2020. This move, led by Zoe Price, has seen great success so far with the pre-season numbers for the women’s team better than anyone could have expected. The numbers for this team are looking very strong and more importantly all the new players are enjoying themselves and the club. We have also welcomed Darren Ashcroft as the inaugural coach of our women’s team, Darren has joined us from Norwood where he was a premiership winning coach there.

Heading into the 2020 season, we will again have a strong coaching team led by senior coach Brett Rowe consisting of Aaron Freeland, Adam Waugh & Ciaran Burgess. We have also welcomed former multiple club best and fairest winner, Travis ‘Rio’ Forbes, as our reserves coach in 2020. Rio is a strong addition to our coaching team, having coached Rowville’s reserves to finals in 1stDivision and has been involved with Park Orchards in recent years. Adam Waugh will again lead our under 19s in 2020 with Paul Gough assisting him.

Off the field we have been busy re-signing our fantastic sponsors as well as welcoming new sponsors for next season. We will be announcing these sponsors soon, but make sure that you continue to support the sponsors that make our club run. Thank you to all our fantastic sponsors for their continued support.

We have also welcomed new committee members on board to help run our club next season. Thank you to all those members of the committee for their tireless work in the off season to prepare us for a successful 2020. A big thank you also to those committee members from 2019 who will not be continuing.

As I said at the start, it has been a very busy off season with new recruits, new coaches, new teams, new sponsors and new committee members. There has also been an energy and a feeling of excitement for the 2020 season that has been unmatched in recent years. We are all looking forward to the 2020 season and we will be getting information out soon on how you can be a part of it, with memberships for the 2020 season available early next year.
